One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Treatments are saving more and more lives as technology advances; cancer surivorship is increasing constantly with early detection and advanced treatment. Treatments for breast cancer include: chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, targeted therapies and a combination of those previously listed.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the complications of these treatments can also be severe. Cardiotoxicity, or heart damage, can result from some cancer treatments. Damage can be incurred to the muscle (causing it to pump less efficiently which is known as cardiomyopathy or heart failure), the arteries or the valves of the heart.<\/p>\n<p>If you or your loved one is affected by breast cancer, be sure to speak with your doctor about your treatment options.
