Preparing for a holiday feast? Don’t let your guard down too far.

Excited to see our favorites again, many of us tend to stuff our faces with holiday treats. This seemingly harmless, once-a-year binge can actually signal a plethora of problems, from unhealthy eating habits to triggers for heart attack.

Instead of focusing solely on the seasonal treats, be sure to eat a balanced meal with at least half of your plate filled with vegetables.

Feast on seasonal vegetables that will leave you happy and healthy.

Try sweet potatoes (but go easy on the marshmallow!), Brussels sprouts, apples and winter squash. For a heartier meal, add winter vegetables to stews or roast them with fragrant herbs.

You won’t miss a thing.
