Does exercise raise blood pressure?

Better control of blood pressure is an advantage of exercise that appears on almost every list of its benefits. The American Heart Association has gone so far as to advise that physicians should recommend regular exercise as a first-line therapy for mild to moderate hypertension and high cholesterol.
