How cannabis use can increase the risk of heart attack, stroke

The use of cannabis is significantly linked to an elevated risk of cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack among adults, even those who do not use tobacco products. Individuals who use cannabis on a more regular basis are also more likely to suffer from cardiovascular events such as a stroke or a heart attack.

These are the findings of research that appeared in an American Heart Association publication that is available to the general public and is subject to review by American Heart Association scientists.
