Constipation is linked to a heart disease risk

According to a study in the American Journal of Physiology, constipation increases the likelihood of heart problems in addition to making you feel uncomfortable and bloated. Folks with a genetic tendency for constipation might also face a greater chance of developing atrial fibrillation (Afib).

The research reveals that people with high blood pressure who also have constipation face a 34% higher risk of heart-related events like heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure compared to those with high blood pressure but no constipation. These findings add to the growing evidence that links constipation to heart issues.
