Don’t Mix These Medications with Coffee

A cup of coffee first thing in the morning may be excellent for your health if that’s what you do every morning. Coffee can provide a much-needed energy boost while also being an excellent source of antioxidants and other vital elements. On top of that, it could improve your mood.

A lot of people like to wake up with coffee in the morning, but it’s not always the best choice. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says that a 12-ounce brewed coffee may have between 113 and 247 mg of caffeine. Caffeine can mix badly with some common drugs. Plus, you may be taking some of these OTC medications without knowing that they interact with caffeine in some way.

If you are currently using any of the medications that we have listed, you should consult with your healthcare professional about the potential interactions that coffee may have with these medications and the precautions that you should take. Of course, just to be cautious, you should always discuss the medications you are currently taking with your healthcare provider, even if they are not on the list.
