A 21-year-old woman with a heart condition reportedly passed away last week after drinking a lemonade from Panera Bread that had as much caffeine as an energy drink. (The store has subsequently promised to inform consumers that the beverage contains caffeine.) Many of us who have relied on caffeine to get us through the day or the gym were shocked to hear this, since caffeine is generally thought to be rather harmless. However, persons of particular ages, with specific health issues, or with no risk factors at all might have serious adverse effects from consuming too much coffee.
