Note: Medical Offices of Manhattan do not test or treat anyone under 18 years of age; This includes all COVID Tests.

Please note – we have been provided feedback that for certain travel a PCR test result is required within 72 hours. The PCR swab that we send to the lab comes back in 1-3 business days. Please check any travel requirements prior to scheduling to avoid any confusion.

A new mandate from the New York State Department of Health requires screening all patients for COVID-19 prior to colonoscopy/endoscopy or other elective medical procedures. In order to provide the safest environment for all of our patients, Manhattan Cardiology is expanding COVID-19 testing capability to offer rapid antigen testing for the novel coronavirus. In a time when testing laboratories are dealing with a backlog of COVID tests causing patients to wait days for delayed results, the FDA-approved nasal swabs will return a positive or negative test result in only 15 minutes.

What Can You Expect From A Rapid COVID Test?

The rapid COVID test is administered at the point of care nasal swab by one of our medical assistants or primary care providers. The rapid antigen test can return results showing whether the patient is infected with acute COVID-19 in just 15 minutes, as opposed to the 3-5 day estimated wait for most nasal swab tests.

What Can I Learn From A COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Test?

The rapid COVID test reveals only whether the COVID-19 virus is currently present. It does not test whether or not the patient has previously been infected by COVID-19, or whether any other viruses are currently present. The test does not react to the presence of any other seasonal coronaviruses.

Are There Other Related Treatments To A Treatment?

Besides the rapid COVID test Manhattan Cardiology also currently offers nasal swab testing for COVID-19 as well as antibody testing to determine whether you have been infected with the coronavirus in the past. We have instituted all procedural changes recommended by the CDC to ensure that all of our patients’ safety is protected in every way possible when they come into our offices for appointments while the pandemic is ongoing. Visit our website to learn more about the COVID-related safety measures we have put in place.
