Heart disease could be prevented with this one simple test

With 32% of all fatalities attributed to heart disease, it is clearly the top killer in the world. But that doesn’t mean people can’t do anything about their condition; they can lower their chance by taking certain steps.

According to specialists, a specialized assessment called the coronary artery calcium (CAC) score may help identify early indicators of heart disease, in addition to adopting healthy lifestyle practices. Manhattan Cardiology’s founder and board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Robert Segal says that a specialized CT scan called the CAC score may evaluate calcium accumulation in the walls of the heart’s arteries.
