Why Women Live Longer Than Men

The amount of time each of us has left on Earth is unknown. What we do know, however, is that the average lifespan of women is increasing faster than that of men in the majority of countries all across the globe.

The average life expectancy in the United States for men is 73.5 years, while it is 79.3 years for women, according to a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published in December 2022. However, why?

We asked doctors for more insight, as well as tips to help everyone increase their life expectancy. It seems that there are a number of factors that could be responsible for the fact that women live longer than men.
